experience consulting and teaching in the field of automobile vehicle dynamics engineering. He has worked
with top-level professional motorsports teams, major auto manufacturers, OEM suppliers, universities and on
Dr. Kasprzak earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo-SUNY. His dissertation
is entitled "Extension of the Nondimensional Tire Theory to General Operating Conditions".
He has consulted to Milliken Research Associates, Inc. since 1996.
He is a co-Founder and co-Director of the Formula SAE Tire Test Consortium, providing professional quality
tire data to member Formula SAE and Formula Student teams at low cost. Founded in 2005, over 500
universities worldwide are members.
From 2007-2016 Dr. Kasprzak was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo Department of
Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, teaching a senior-level two-course sequence on vehicle dynamics and
occasional other courses. From 1999-2005 he taught Calculus in the UB Gifted Math Program. All totaled,
he has been the instructor for approximately 50 university classes.
He volunteers his time as a Formula SAE Design Judge, supporting the Michigan and Lincoln events. He is a
participant in the SAE Industrial Lecture Program, having given his lecture "Tire Testing & Modeling for Vehicle
Dynamics" at over two dozen universities. He has past experience as a Faculty Advisor to the University at Buffalo
SAE student chapter and has served as a paper reviewer for SAE International.
He is the author (or co-author) of approximately three dozen publications, including peer-reviewed papers
through SAE & ASME, magazine articles in "Racecar Engineering" and has contributed to the books "Race Car
Vehicle Dynamics: Problems, Answers & Experiments", "Chassis Design: Principles and Analysis" and "Learn &
Compete: A Primer for Formula SAE, Formula Student and Formula Hybrid Teams".
He was voted 2011 Professor of the Year by the University at Buffalo’s New York Nu Chapter of Tau Beta Pi
(Engineering Honor Society).
Dr. Kasprzak is the recipient of the 2012 Excellence in Engineering Education award from SAE International.
